"When Ted showed up, he replaced a faulty motor and an ancient fan with a new one. Voila! The AC system is back up and running again, at a little under $1000, thus saving well over $4000."
Ted is a genuine lifesaver. He fixed my AC unit and did it for a reasonable price. And he did it fast, cheap and good. I had a problem with an aged AC system -- it is as old as the building (at least 40 years). The estimates I had previously ranged from $5300 and up, one even over $10,000. When Ted showed up, he replaced a faulty motor and an ancient fan with a new one. Voila! The AC system is back up and running again, at a little under $1000, thus saving well over $4000. Servicemen are rarely ever this good and reasonable. I would recommend him way over any of the big-box store AC installers. (Just to add insult to injury, one of the Home Depot salesmen tried to convince me to add a second AC "mini-split" on the wall, so I would have had two AC units in my place -- a ridiculous solution, but I'm sure they are well paid to push people to buy them. In researching the Mini-split, it turned out the unit doesn't save any money in the electric bill anyway, even though they claim it does.) Beware of the big-box sales guys! Home Depot is not your friend.
